Michael Forde was born in Montreal Quebec, and relocated to Toronto with his family at age 6, where he continued his elementary education. He completed his secondary studies in Mississauga Ontario. During both elementary and secondary school years, Michael was an active music student in Choir and the Wind Ensemble as first trumpeter.
Michael began his piano studies privately with Mrs. Zdenka Helen Picha of Czechoslovakia, and subsequently with Mr. Alde Calongcagong who is a graduate of the University of Windsor. Michael participated in both the Peel Region and Mississauga annual Music Festivals. Michael performed was also an accompanist for various community functions.
He received his Bachelor of Music Degree in 2005 from the University of Windsor while studying piano under the direction of Dr. E. G. Butler. During his academic studies, Michael was a member of the Chamber Choir with Richard Householder as Choral Director. Michael has also performed his own composition "Wings" at the Canadian Music Festival. He is presently teaching introductory piano to both children and adults.
Michael has a strong musical background in Church Music. At. St. John's Anglican Church in Mississauga Ontario, he played trumpet and accompanied the Organist for Christmas and Easter services. At this Church, he held an interest in Organ Music and eventually became a student organist during the summer months. Michael is a member of the Royal Canadian College of Organists (RCCO) and having received two scholarships from the RCCO, continues to study with Prof. David Palmer. He has played for numerous Churches in Windsor, and is presently the Organist and Choir Director for St. Michael's and All Angels Anglican Church.
Michael has completed his Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto Solo Performers examination in 2009. Currently, as an Associate of BPA he provides private piano instruction and theory classes to all levels of students.
